Is this pilates?
Although at first glance there are similarities, the workout method is very different. The main difference is the Proformer and class structure provide intensity and cardiovascular elements that pilates cannot. With village[core]fitness you get the intensity of weight training plus the therapeutic benefits of pilates all in one 45-minute class.
Should my first class be a private lesson?
We do not require you to start with a private session due to the fact that classes are designed to work in a group setting. Our classes can accommodate all fitness levels and our certified trainers are excellent at adjusting exercises to meet your physical fitness needs. If you have chronic back pain, painful joints, or a severe medical condition, it is recommended to take a private session first so that your certified instructor can assess your fitness level. Classes at v[c]f are limited to ten students per class, an intimate workout experience offering personalized instructor attention. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know and we will take care of you.
How often should I take class?
The workout is designed to work your body to muscle fatigue at which point you need to rest. Depending on your fitness level and the intensity of your workout, you will need more, or less, time to recover. We recommend 3-4 times a week to allow your body to properly recover and repair. Listen to your body, it’s up to you!
How do I schedule a class?
It’s easy! We have a user-friendly and extremely secure software system to assist you in reserving a class. Click Book A Class Now to create a username and password, and use it to schedule, purchase and track your visit history. If you forget your password or need more information, please send us an email. Remember an online account is required if you want to take our classes. Reservations are recommended. We do not allow drop-ins unless you already have an online account with us. We do require a credit card to be entered into our system to book classes. We do this to cover late charges and/or no show fees.
Where do I park?
Due to the fact that we are located in the historic village of Granville, please give yourself ample time to find parking. It's always an option to park on a side street and start your warm-up with a walk or light jog on your way to class.
What should I bring to class?
• Hand towels are provided for you.
• Wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move in, similar to what you would wear to the gym.
• We recommend wearing socks with treads on the bottom. These are available for purchase at the studio.
• Water! And lots of it. Stay hydrated before and after class will help muscle performance and recovery.
• Jewelry is not a good idea. It can get caught on the machine.
• No cell phones during class. Please be respectful of the instructor and other class members.
What about cancellations or class changes?
If no one is signed up for a class online 24 hours before it starts, it may be cancelled. Online sign up for classes is closed one hour before the class starts. Instructors and classes are subject to change without notice, please check our online schedule for updated information. If you need to cancel your spot in class you will not be charged if done 2 hours prior to start time. If you cancel inside the 2 hour window, members will be charged $15 or package buyer will lose a class. Also, if you do not show up for your scheduled class, you will be charged a $25 fee to your account. Please try to cancel ahead of time so your spot can be given to another client.
Will you ever offer more class times and will you ever change them?
Yes we always are looking to change the schedule to better serve our community. We are always open to suggested time slots that work best for the majority. We want to offer ample opportunities to "get your core on" so please let us know if you have suggestions.
What is the deal with the waitlist?
If you are added to the waitlist for any of our scheduled classes and a spot opens up, you will be notified via email. You will then be able to opt into the class or decline. If you do decline, the next person on the waitlist will be notified and have the option to join the class. If you receive a message that says to call the studio, this just means the waitlist is full at this time. Feel free to check back in as often as you like to see if the waitlist or spot opens up. FYI: If you download the mindbody connect app, you can manage your classes a little easier.
